(JollofNews) – The funeral of a Gambian teenager who was killed in the Northfield area of Birmingham will be held on Sunday afternoon at the Birmingham Central Mosque.
Sheriff Mbye, 18, who lived with his parents in Lee Bank, died in hospital on 17th April after being stabbed several times during a fight outside a KFC restaurant. He will be laid to rest at the Muslim Memorial Cemetary: Sandwell Valley Crematorium, Newton Road.
One of his friends, Montell Stephens, 18, of William Savage Way, Smethwick, who was also injured during the fight has been charged with his murder and is remanded in custody.
He was found dripping with blood in a barber shop and was immediately taken to hospital by police officers who responded to reports of a stabbing.
While at the hospital, he was arrested on suspicion of murder on 24th April and kept under 24-hour police guard until he was deemed fit for questioning.
Two other men– Rakeem Riley, 18, of no fixed address and Omar Robinson, 21, of Rann Close, Ladywood – were also charged on suspicion of murder and remanded in custody.
