Pa Dembo upbeat about new season

Gambian international Goalkeeper Pa Dembo Touray of Swedish club side Djurgaden is relishing on a prolonged stay at the club, hoping to have a better season as opposed to his and the clubs poor showing last season. Speaking to the club’s official website press, Touray said last season was probably the toughest during his stay at Djurgaden. ‘’I was not satisfied with either the team or my own performance. But in the end, when the team won four of five matches, the deal was done,” he recalls with pleasure.  The latter part of the season was really good. “I think that means a lot. In addition, I have been away and made two great international matches, we played 1-1 against Angola, and beat Tunisia 2-1. I feel that it is only to drive on from there. I will strive to do much better than last year. It is about giving everything of concentration and hard work. This year there will be a very good season,” he said. Commenting on his own colleagues competing for the number one position in the team, Touray said  he recognised the talents of  Tommi Vaiho and Christopher Matwiejew, the other two keepers at the club.  “Tommi will be a very, very good goalkeeper’, there is stiff competition this year. I will not underestimate him, or else he will take my place. Christoffer is young, he needs a couple of years in which to learn, but he has the potential to be really good and works hard together with Tommi and me,” Touray said
