Former general manager of The Point newspaper facilitated the sale of the paper’s landed property in Old Yundum and handed over the proceeds to Pap Saine and Baba Hydara, court heard on Wednesday.
The Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, presided over by Principal Magistrate Omar Jabang, today proceeded with criminal proceedings into allegations of theft against the former general manager of The Point Mr. Philip Kotey.
First prosecution witness Baba Hydara on Wednesday admitted to the court that the company’s estranged general manager has indeed succeeded in disposing off The Point’s Old Yundum property and that the D3.2m realized from the sale was given to himself and Pap Saine.
He, however, explained that D700,000 was set aside for settlement of salary arrears.
