Palestinian President Abbas Discusses Developments With Gambia’s Barrow

President Mahmoud Abbas met with Gambian President Adama Barrow Thursday on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

During the meeting, President Abbas briefed President Barrow on the Palestinian leadership’s ongoing efforts to stop Israeli aggression against Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.

He stressed the necessity for Israeli occupation forces to fully withdraw from Gaza and for humanitarian aid to reach the region.

President Abbas highlighted the significance of international cooperation, especially through the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in ensuring that Israel complies with international law and recent UN General Assembly resolutions that call for an end to the occupation.

He also expressed gratitude for Gambia’s support of these resolutions.

In response, President Barrow reaffirmed Gambia’s commitment to a two-state solution in accordance with international law, a stance he had reiterated in his earlier address to the General Assembly.
