GDAG Pays Tribute To Late Gambian Politician

The Gambia Democratic Action Group (GDAG) has joined other Diaspora dissident Gambian organisations to pay tribute to Buba Baldeh, a former politicians and critic of the Gambian regime, who died last week in Senegal.

The organisation said members are shocked and saddened by the untimely demise of Mr. Baldeh whom it described as the face of Gambian exiles in Senegal.Further describing him as a ‘lion politician, humanist and patriotic Gambian’ the organisation said Mr Baldeh was called by his Lord at a time when his services w

ere much more needed.It called on Gambian to unite and be steadfast in their struggle to end dictatorship in the West African nation.
“As Gambians continue to struggle to liberate our country from the clutches of tyranny, the fall of Bubacarr Baldeh should energise us to unite, love each other and be steadfast in our quest to bring back real democracy, the rule of law and justice in the Gambia,” said Makam Sowe, vice chair person of the organisation.
“And as we mourn the demise of a worthy son of our motherland, we ask all Gambians to pause and reflect on the life and legacy of Bubacarr Michael Baldeh.
GDAG condemned the Gambian Government’s refusal to allow the late politician to be buried in his native Basse Mansajang.
“We strongly condemned the actions and arrogance of the leadership of the Gambia Government for denying a bonafide son of our nation his constitutional and God given rights to be buried in his country of birth. We pray that Allah the Almighty forgive the sins of Bubacarr Baldeh and the deceased before him and reward them Janatul Firdaus.”
