Nearly 40 Individuals Seek NPP’s Endorsement In Council Elections

The Gambia’s ruling NPP apparently has the herculean task of sieving six candidates from the nearly 40 individuals, who expressed interest in running on the party’s ticket, for the seats of the various local councils in The Gambia. Banjul aside, NPP has been overwhelmed by a deluge of applications in other administrative regions of the country.

So far, eight applicants have expressed the intention to throw their hats in the ring for KMC.

In the Lower River Region, the field of applicants for Mansakonko Area Council has been crowded with 10 applicants while nine applicants have their eyes set on the Brikama Area Council chair.

Eight individuals have also filed their applications for consideration as NPP candidate for Kuntaur Area Council in the Central River Region.

Independence stadium’s manager Ebou Faye was still unchallenged as the NPP candidate for BCC.
