(JollofNews) – The head of the Gambian Armed Forces has renewed his ‘unwavering support’, ‘commitment’, ‘loyalty’ and ‘patriotism’ to President Yahya Jammeh and his APRC government.
Lieutenant General Ousman Bargie, Chief of Defence Staff of the Gambia Armed Forces said the Gambia under the leadership of President Jammeh has registered a lot of development and touched every sphere of human endeavour, which have undoubtedly won him the admiration of many at home and abroad.
“As we embark anew on the process of rebuilding and rediscovering ourselves as a nation, the events of the past twenty-two years have cast our nation in the spotlight of both national and global scrutiny,” Lt General Bargie wrote in a congratulatory message to President Jammeh, who is also commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces and minister of Defence.
He added: “Predictably, the Gambia has not disappointed and we have acquitted ourselves well
enough. Gambians are confident not only in the glory of what that have been able to achieve even better with renewed commitments, patriotism, and honesty in the coming years. We are cognisant and proud of all the frantic efforts on the part of Your Excellency to make the Gambia one of the best countries in the world.
“As you implement more necessary reforms for a holistic rejuvenation of Gambia, I seize this joyous opportunity to reiterate our unwavering support, commitment, loyalty and patriotism to you and the entire government and to all those who stood by you since its inception. We pray to Allah to give you the good health and the wisdom to continue in this time-honoured path of duty, glory and integrity. Long live the Revolution, long live the Gambia, happy 22nd anniversary celebrations.”
