(JollofNews) – President Yahya Jammeh of the Gambia Thursday made another u-turn by reappointing Sulayman Samba as secretary-general, head of the civil service and minister of Presidential Affairs.

Mr Samba was previously removed from the post on 30th June 2016 seven months after his appointment.

His successor, Dodou Bammy Jagne, who has been in the post for less than two months has been appointed minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure.

Sulayman Samba is described as a close ally of President Jammeh and has held many senior positions in the Jammeh regime including deputy secretary-general and permanent secretary for various government ministries.

No reasons were given by Mr Jammeh for the u-turn.
