The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the Gambia has ballooned to 1235.
According to figures from the country’s Ministry of Health, 145 have tested positive for the disease in the past 48 hours.
36 of the newly diagnosed cases are nurses at the Medical Research Council (MRC).
80 per cent of the cases are community transmission.
An additional four people have died of the disease between 7th and 7th August, bringing the total number of deaths to 23.
