Coronavirus: Gambia’s Death Toll Rises To 77 As 172 New Cases Registered

The number of people to have died with coronavirus in the Gambia has risen by 14.

The government said 77 people have now died in the country after testing positive for coronavirus between March and 17th August.

The government also said there had been a further 172 lab-confirmed cases. Overall, a total of 2, 288 cases have been confirmed in the country since March.

It added that 435 people have now recovered from the disease while the virus is still active in 1,776 people.

At the time of writing this report, 302 people are in quarantine where they are being observed for symptoms of  coronavirus.
