The army said the report it gathered has indicated there were several fatalities in a road crash involving the motorcade of President Adama Barrow on Thursday.
According to a press release from the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) High Command, five soldiers from the State Guards Battalion were involved in the accident.
The soldiers were said to be part of the rear party of the President’s convoy.
The accident occured around Ndemban village and there were reports four soldiers have died.
