The National Security Adviser, Abubakarr Suleiman Jeng, has hinted at suspected elaborate web of conspiracy between civilians and some members of the Gambia’s army in an “attempt to overthrow the democratically-elected government of President Adama Barrow”.
Though, he did not name names of the civilians suspected of collaborating in the botched coup attempt, the national security adviser said:”Also reports are pointing to the suspected involvement of sponsors for the coup plot…some civilian collaborators, who are both within and outside of the country. The investigations are seriously looking into this angle”.
