Lance Corporal Sanna Fadera and four others will now be tried for attempting to oust President Adama Barrow in a military coup, though the names of five others were earlier today whittled from the charge sheet.
L/Cpl. Sanna Fadera, Petty Officer Gibriel Darboe, Cpl. Ebrima Sano, Cpl. Omar Njie and Sub-Inspector Fabakary Jawara will reappear at the Gambia’s High Court in Banjul on 2 February 2023, to answer charges brought against them.
They could not enter a plea on Wednesday as Cpl. Omar Njie could not secure legal representation.
Meanwhile, Captain Ebrima Baldeh, Bakary Njie,Mbarra Touray, Mustapha Jabbie, Lt. Omar M. Colley and Saikou Gassama all walked out of the court free today following their exclusion from the alleged plot.
