The Senegalese army announced that Navy commandos went missing after the patrol boat WALO intercepted a suspected navy boat believed to belong to narco-traffickers.
In a four-paragraph news relase issued on Saturday and seen by JollofNews, Army Spokesperson Colonel Moussa Koulibaly, said, the five missing Navy commandos were part of the team that went into the suspected ship to conduct an inspection.
He further stated they found the sea valves of the suspected ship were left open in what appeared to a deliberate attempt to destroy evidences that might help investigators to lift a corner of the veil on the shipment.
According to the Senegalese Army Spokesperson, they were able to rescue seven commandos while five other navy officers are still reported missing since last Friday at around 10 pm.
The rescue operations also brought to safety ten people who were on board of the ship reportedly sunk by them.
