Lawyer Martin Calls For President Adama Barrow’s Removal

Gambian lawyer Assan Martin has called for the removal of President Adama Barrow, describing his administration as an “incompetent government” that has failed the people.

Speaking on Star FM Radio’s Wakenup Gambia show, Martin said Gambians are suffering under Barrow’s leadership and deserve a “truthful and God-fearing leader.”

His comments come amid growing public dissatisfaction and recent protests, including the Gambia Against Looted Assets (GALA) demonstration, where young people voiced frustrations over governance and economic hardship.

Martin urged the president to stop taking what he described as “bad advice” and instead listen to the concerns of young protesters. He warned against using “bad laws against the youth” and compared Barrow’s situation to that of former president Yahya Jammeh, who was forced into exile.

“If President Adama Barrow isn’t mindful about the youth, he will be exiled somewhere in Asia,” Martin said. The lawyer added that the president had an opportunity to engage young people positively but failed to do so.
