Senegalese President Macky Sall will take part in a three-day high level meeting in the Gambia aimed at further cementing the ties between the two sister countries.
During the meeting President Adama Barrow and his Senegalese counterpart are set to endorse a joint communique on several areas of cooperation including defence and security, forestry, transport, justice, tourism and culture, communication, energy and petroleum, custom, trade and sports.
Senegal was a key player in tabling UN Resolution 2337, recognising Adama Barrow as president, and giving green light to ECOWAS forces to cross the Gambian border if ex-dictator Jammeh failed to comply with the regional bloc ultimatum, urging him to relinquish power on January 19th, 2017.
A resurgence of the Senegambian dream ensued as bilateral cooperation between the two countries reached unprecedented levels.
