(JollofNews) – Two high profile judges of the Supreme Court of the Gambia have been sacked from their posts by President Yahya Jammeh, JollofNews has learned.
According to judicial sources, Justice Raymond Sock and Justice Gibril Samega Janneh were sacked on Wednesday morning without any explanation.
Their sacking came barely a month after the country’s Pakistani born chief justice, Justice Eli Nawaz Chowhan, was expelled by Mr Jammeh for acquitting a former Navy commander who was jailed for treason.
Both Sock and Janneh who worked in the Gambian judiciary for over three decades, have recently presided over some high profile cases in the Supreme Court with Chief Justice Chowhan in which they ruled against the state.
