A new draft constitution for the Gambia will in August be sent to the country’s National Assembly.
The Ministry of Justice is already working on plans to publish the draft constitution in the Gazette as required by law before the end of this month.
It could be recalled that in June 2018, President Adama Barrow inaugurated a Constitutional Review Commission to undertake a review of the 1997 Constitution and to come up with a proposed Draft that will be subjected to a referendum and usher in a Third Republic for The Gambia.
The Office of the President is assuring Gambians that it will follow all due processes in strengthening the country’s democracy.
