The Chairman of the Brikama Area Council (BAC), Yankuba Darboe, has denied any knowledge of tractors purportedly allocated to the council, saying he has not seen or received any such equipment since assuming office.
Reacting to claims that the BAC was allocated eight tractors, Darboe said the news came as a surprise to him and the current administration.
“The revelation that BAC was allocated 8 tractors is news to me,” he said. “I have asked around, but no one seems to know anything about them!”
The chairman also clarified that the council has not inherited any tractors from the previous administration under chairman Sheriffo Sonko. “As far as I know, we have not inherited any Jammeh tractors at BAC from the previous council,” he added.
