Former Gambian dictator has left many jaws dropped when he accused President Adama Barrow’s State House of human sacrifice.
Below is the transcript of the audio, currently making rounds:
“I think a marabout told them to sacrifice a Jola woman. In the absence of a Jola woman, then they can take a Jola man but the surname should be Colley. Why Colley, I don’t know. I know what Adama Barrow is doing. What they have been doing and they are still doing the same thing that would not save them anyway. You work with the devil, Allah will never back you.
“The country is suffering. Exactly three days later, they sent me a video, they sent me a video…no, a photograph of somebody who has died at State House and his surname is Colley. I called Adama Bojang[a so-called relative of Jammeh’s mother] and sent her the video and audio and she started crying. I don’t know whether that is Crocodile tears or not, I don’t know but she cried. I told her whatever I tell you that is the way it is. Now if she [Amie Colley] wants to go to Adama Barrow on her own, I don’t care. When I advised somebody not to do something and you do it whatever you see is your own problem.
“They destroyed somebody’s son’s life. I told her [Adama Bojang] it’s not possible…I was at the State House for 22 years. We have a maintenance team that does all the work. In the event that they cannot fix that type of work, they would call a private guy, who has the means and the tools to do that and they work within. I told her on no occasion would somebody be working alone in any part of the State House, who is not part of the maintenance team. So for them to say that this guy was working there and he died there until the body decomposed, they are lying. They sacrificed him. Now, after sacrificing… Somebody died at the State House[and] nobody supervising him? Even the most idiotic Gambian will not believe that. Now, they know that if they take the body out and throw it somewhere, people will identify that this was the guy, who was working at the State House. That’s why they allowed the body to decompose but thank God, the boy himself informed his people that he has a contract at the State House. So when everybody was talking and then that the time it was discovered, the body was completely decomposed. In that case, in The Gambia, I don’t think you will have the doctors that will be able to make a postmortem to know exactly how this guy died, whether he was poisoned or whatever. The body has decomposed. If he was hit or whatever they did to him to die but they knew that if they took the body out when they killed him, people would have seen what happened to him until he died. So, that’s why they allowed the body to decompose almost beyond recognition.”
The State House has yet to respond to Jammeh’s allegations.
