High-level NPP officials and party supporters from across the world descended on the Spanish city of Girona last Saturday for the party’s unprecedented diaspora fund-raising event, but some of the NPP top brass such as Lamin Cham, Lamin Queen Jammeh and Alkali Conteh were conspicuously absent from the event.
NPP officials Hon. Musa Drammeh, Abdoulie Suku Singhateh, Dr. Demba Sabally, Fabou Jatta, Siaka Jatta, Haji Baniko Sisoho, Seedy Ceesay, Sulayman Camara and Bilay G. Tunkara were among the glittering array of top NPP officials and guests at the Spain event.
The NPP’s campaign manager Lamin Cham, the party’s spokesperson Lamin Queen Jammeh and party bigwig Alkali Conteh were apparently absent.
JollofNews could not establish the reasons for the absence of the three key NPP figures from the Girona event, but what the medium could establish is that Lamin Queen Jammeh had scaled back his media engagements as the party’s spokesperson, NPP top strategist Lamin Cham is not as popular in the NPP as deputy House Speaker Hon. Seedy S.K Njie while Alkali Conteh is no longer enjoying that physical proximity to the President as it reportedly obtained after he had been despatched to the far-away land of Türkiye in the Middle East several months ago.
“These are key NPP figures and their absence from the NPP diaspora fund-raising event raises more questions than answers,” one commentator, who requested anonymity, said of NPP officials Cham, Conteh and Jammeh.
“Take my name out of the story or else I will have a problem with you. Do you know our arrangements?” Cham angrily told JollofNews reporter when contacted.
Queen Jammeh, who is also the NPP spokesperson, could not be reached, and so did Alkali Conteh.
