President Adama Barrow has expressed concern that several development projects carried out by his administration in Sanunding and across Kantora District were not acknowledged during a community meeting held as part of his nationwide tour.
Speaking in Sanunding on Saturday, the president said he was taken aback that none of the local speakers mentioned the work his government has completed in the area. He pointed to new classrooms, renovated toilets, upgraded staff quarters and improvements in agriculture and road infrastructure as examples of projects already delivered.
According to Barrow, these initiatives were rolled out to ease daily challenges and raise living standards in the district. He said the absence of any reference to them during the meeting suggested that his administration’s efforts were either overlooked or underappreciated.
Even so, the president stressed that his commitment to Kantora remains firm. He assured residents that several new projects are planned for the district, adding that his government will continue working to meet the needs of the community.

Barrow also encouraged residents to engage openly with his administration, saying development gains are strongest when government and communities acknowledge progress and work together toward shared goals.
