(JollofNews) – President Adama Barrow of the Gambia Wednesday named and confirmed the appointments of more ministers into his cabinet.
Mr Barrow, 52, filled the vacant ministerial positions days after he was inaugurated on home soil as the country’s third president at a ceremony marking Gambia’s 52nd independence anniversary.
The ministers are Bai Lamin Jobe, Minister of Works and Transport; veteran teacher, Claudiana Cole, Minister of Basic and Secondary Education; Badara Joof, Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology and Saffie Lowe Ceesay, Minister of Health and Social Welfare.
Respected Gambian journalist Demba Ali Jawo (DA) was also confirmed as minister of Information, Communication and Technology.
In the same vein, Fatoumata Jallow-Tambajang, has been appointed Minister of Women’s Affairs to oversee the office of vice-president.
A BA holder in French from the University of Nice, France, Ms Tambajang played an important role in the formation of the opposition coalition that defeated former President Yahya Jammeh in the December 1st presidential election.
