Lawyer Ousainou Darboe’s interview on EYE Africa TV Online highlighted a signal for many Gambians to read between the lines and distance themselves from the breakaway Talibanism (‘meism’) instead of collective collaboration. Gambians saw a movement built on deception, just like President Adama Barrow did in 2019.
So, the Unite Movement for Change is a hoax and thus cannot hold onto the basic principles of our country but individualism. It’s a bunch of angry people who’ve grossly deviated from the basic democratic principles, killing their own ambitions and spirits before starting.
To those who have worked their entire lives and time for the UDP but today break away to come back and unseat President Adama Barrow and his hegemony together, do not allow your decades of hard work to go in vain. The UDP is the party to endorse for 2026 Presidential elections, and together we can get Lawyer Ousainou ANM Darboe to the state house.
If our impulses lead us to reject Darboe’s presidential bid in 2026, the ultimate loser will be the Gambia, not the UDP, Darboe, or any individual, but the nation as a whole. Therefore, it is evident that President Adama Barrow poses a significant challenge to our country, and his prompt departure is imperative.
