Action Man Calls On Gambians To Resist Pillage Of Public Coffers

Former diplomat and minister under the Jammeh dispensation Balla Garba Jahumpa has called on Gambians to safeguard their national treasury by resisting official corruption and allied practices.

Mr. Jahumpa, widely known as Action Man, emphasized that the time has now come for Gambians to wave goodbye to the days when audit reports gather dust from the shelf.

“Do not allow any audit report to gather dust any more. Let’s put an end to that in this country,” he added after referencing several inconclusive government-sanctioned audit exercises.

The one-time works minister called on Gambians, wherever they may be in the country, to put up a strong resistance against those dipping their hands into the public purse.

“From Banjul to Kartong, Kartong to Koina, let’s stand up against corruption. Nobody owns this country, it belongs to all of us. Nobody is God is in this as there is only one God and none is like Him,” Jahumpa stated in a widely circulated audio recording.
