(JollofNews) – The Gambia National Environment Agency (NEA) has warned against trafficking of plastic bags into the country, saying it is against the laws of the country.
A statement issued on Wednesday in Banjul by the NEA noted that some people who engage in plastic bags business are still smuggling the bags in the country, despite the ban on the sale and use of the product for health reasons.
The statement warned that anyone found wanting would face the full force of the law.
It also warned ice and cold water vendor to desist from using plastic bags.
The Gambian Government had in July this year imposed a total ban on the sale and use of all forms of plastic bags in the country.
