The Gambian leader Adama Barrow is expected to embark upon a countrywide tour next month in fulfilment of a constitutional mandate.
The President and a delegation of government and governing party officials are expected to cross over to Barra in the North Bank Region (NBR) around 16 November 2025, to begin the tour, which is expected to feature several community meetings and engagements.
President Barrow’s tour will come in the backdrop of street protests over the rising cost of living, over-policing, official corruption among other governance ills attributed to his administration.
Last year, the Barrow administration reportedly budgeted D30M for the President’s constitutionally-mandated nationwide tour, which was criticised by the leader of Gambia’s main opposition party Lawyer Ousainou Darboe as extravagant spending of taxpayer money.
