Building The New Gambia With Madi Jobarteh: Revoke The Appointment Of Abdoulie Bojang

Madi Jobarteh

(JollofNews) – I, Madi Jobarteh hereby wholeheartedly and unreservedly and totally condemn with all the strength in my soul and body the appointment of Abdoulie Bojang, former APRC Speaker of the National Assembly as The Gambia’s representative in South Africa.

Abdoulie Bojang deserves to face a truth and justice commission for aiding and abetting tyranny in The Gambia. Abdoulie Bojang committed treason when he willingly aided Yaya Jammeh to flout the Constitution and Sovereignty of the Gambia by rejecting the December 1 verdict of our people.

Abdoulie Bojang failed to defend both our Constitution and our Sovereignty as required by him by law but rather went ahead to lead the National Assembly to institute through unconstitutional means a state of emergency and then extended the tenure of Yaya Jammeh as well as the life of the National Assembly, illegally. By this act Abdoulie Bojang has directly threatened national security while trampling on the Will and Sovereignty of the people of The Gambia.

Abdoulie Bojang should face justice and not to carry the flag of The Gambia.

I hereby call on Pres. Adama Barrow to revoke the appointment of Abdoulie Bojang.

God bless The Gambia.

  1. Who is directing the appointments in this Barrow;s government? We are seeing ex-convicts, prisoners, those who are complicit in many of the heinous crimes committed by Jammeh against Gambians and those violating the constitutional age requirement all being appointed in high offices. Is Gambia now a nation without laws?

  2. Yes its deplorable. No more recycling these enablers.

  3. “You who are without sin cast the first stone.”

“To err is human to forgive is divine”

The best skills, the best brains, and the best patriots>> everytime !

Come together to build a sound nation of worth and substance.

Why are some Gambians soooooo negative ?

    • Mike Scales, what do you think would be the fate of people like Mr. Bojang in Britain?
Don’t tell me all the MPs and politicians of Britain, who have resigned in the past for committing misdemeanors, lack the best skills, brains and the patriotism!

  4. Let’s give some people chance with their experiences, they may deliver better than they did before.

  5. I think one industry Gambia could convene would be making wooden Crosses;

So many crucifixions to be had. Let your government breath/

From a slow start this government is now moving with purpose. I think Barrow knows his responsibility is great and he’s showing courage.

You cannot please all of the people all of the time.

  6. Mr Bojang and others like him are complicit in the atrocities brought to bear on Gambians during Jammeh’s illegal occupation of the state house in Banjul. There is a Gambian concurrence on that. It is also known that these mercenaries that serve at Yahya’s pleasure have spent years digging in and sowing seeds of discord and distrust in our communities. The problem President Barrow faces is how to gently and safely render them redundant and remove them from the corridor of power and circle of benevolence. I am in full support of the President approach of dimasculinization by proxy and evisceration by diplomatic exile and eventual decapitation. Sure send Bojang to RSA and CDS to Cuba and let them rot in a foreign land deprived of friends, family and the Gambian groove. Madi it is a smart move and this round goes to President Barrow. Keep these murders away from our soil.

  7. This appointment may serve as balsam on the stretched nerves of the segment of the population, who perceive that the Jolas are being persecuted and under general suspicion. I think this move will respond well to people touting for reconciliation and healing. Let’s give 2nd chance and prove that a witch-hunting is not the order of the day. Nevertheless, I agree with the call for restraints in the recycling of “determined” enablers of jammeh irrespective of the stakes.

  8. My Good Doctor; Your use of big words is beyond me, I am only a lowly born Englishman. Very impressive though/ May I recommend you build your cross with a mortise and tenon joint, They tend to last forever.

  9. I have being referring to these “pro-inept Barrow administration” followers as vengeful, angry and arrogant elements. Do they think the Gambia is theirs? Do they think the little monies they have supplying the “coalition” during the President Jammeh era should be their trump card to dictate to the incompetent Barrow administration? Even though the adminitration is inept, it should not bow to their vengeful, irresponsible and childish advice.
The worst that has ever been meted out to a human being was perpertrated in South Africa, Abodoulie Bojang’s destination. Late President Mandela was wrongfully jailed for 27 years for saying NO to what he perceived as cruel to humanity. On release he dined with his jailer judge and reserved the services of Frederik de Klerk. What were wrong in those acts on magnanimity? Absolutely nothing! They just healed the wounds of a very angry society.
“dr” Isatou Sarr, I totally disagree with your assertion that moving them( Abdoulie/Badjie) is a covert diplomatic move to allow them to rot in a foreign land without families/friends. You are just woeful in thought, empty in ideas and just miserable in character. They are going to serve their country. Whenever, wherever, one needs to make the best of one’s efforts to raise high the flag of one’s country. When you lose your life in that act of national duty, you are a true patriotic citizen!

    • Dr Isatou Sarr

How can you disagree with something beyond your station. Truth is you are afraid, scared that President Barrow is smart and deliberate . Pragmatic and learning and getting very comfortable in his God chosen destiny and there is nothing you and other Yahya sycophants can do but pray that he merciful and God fearing. He is.
      God Bless The Gambia.

  10. “dr” Isatou Sarr,
You are the failed strategists/analysts who will never understand that politica power puts one back on the SEAT OF CALCULATED FEAR to carefully and intelligently cater for welfare of her/his citizens. The Allah-given position to Barrow has long been recognized by us although we don’t share his “leadership” and will never ever rejoice at the incompetent Barrow’s feeble leadership.
We’ll remain firm on the vanguard of positive opposition though Barrow continues to hire the serevices of the President Jammeh “sycophants” as you always address us.
Barrow is only manifesting to his foolhardy, arrogant and very angry supporters that to reconcile a nation and put it on the right path to sustainable development, one doesn’t have to be arrogant and villanous. He’s showing his smartness to his uncouthed supporters like you “dr Isatou Sarr. Barrow knows that we the President Jammeh “sycophants” will never yield to his “coalition’s” ineptitude/incompetence/corruption/tribalism/regionalism until we regain the mantle of leadership.
I only hope he continues to stride towards ignoring those arrogant supporters especially the ones in the diaspora, who fooolishly believe they hold the key to Gambia’s development, in order to manage our state affairs with peace of mind. I HOPE!

  11. Kinteh: You are a citizen of great wisdom.

  12. True leadership is the loneliest occupation in the world.

  13. “dr” Isatou Touray and the Gambia you are creating! LOL ! I’m askng you to discard this corrupt government that will do worse than all their predecessors. PLEASE READ ALONG.

    GRA SCANDAL 2.0

    Dear Mr Sallah,

    Honourable Member of Parliament

You may have been aware that the Managing Director of GRA, Yankuba Darboe, recently presented Two (2) brand new cars to President Barrow. It has to be said this is quite disturbing reminiscent of the Jammeh-era excesses. The remit of that parastaral is simply to collect tax revenue on behalf of the Gambia government – Nothing else or more.

As an oversight scrutiny body in Parliament, sincerely I urge the chairman of the Public accounts committee (PAC/PEC) to write or summon this moron Yankuba Darboe to answer for his sins. Yes he should be called into the “House” before the committee to acquaint himself and the decision therein. Why is public money spent on useless cars for a president who doesn’t need them; and what national intetest does it serve? Such bribery and largesse is what we have fought for, yet still trying to do away with in this dispensation #NewGambia.

In recent months, I’d called for the swift replacement of the clueless heads of public-owned parastatals therein, and the country’s unworthy diplomats around the world; and it pays well the administration took heed. However, this GRA buffoonery remains the last clog standing, echoing nightmares of favoritism and playing the “Tribal-Card”. That aside he is as corrupt as they come – just look at the houses and cars he “own” across the country. No wonder the Gambian people are beginning to lose hope in Barrow and his cabinet. And certainly, confidence & morale is low amongst the diaspora visioning a transformational leadership.A word of advice to Foreign Minister Darboe – learn to consult and to guage opinion given the illadvised appointment of Jammeh-enabler Abdoulie Bojang who could barely spell the world “globalisation” as Ambassador. Based on democracy terms, one often argued for appointments based on merit. Bojang is a discredited shameless scum, and his appointment should be rescinded henceforth.

On a crystal clear starry night across the London sKyline, I write with a sense of deja vue, unhinged, still searching for ethical leadership the Gambian people truly deserve.

As someone with innate liberal and pragmatic qualities not to mention convictions, I do understand Mr Jobarteh’s injured sense of justice as far as a delicate case like this is concerned. However, I do not totally agree with the solution to the problem he espouses for several reasons.
In the first place, the history of the first post-Nazi era government in the then West Germany has some useful lessons for us to learn from in our collective efforts aimed at undoing the damage done to our institutions by a regime that had no respect for either human life or the liberties of its citizenry. Its first post-WW2 Chancellor was specifically asked by journalists as to whether or not he had any moral scruples re-using a large number of tainted former Nazi sympathizers in the country’s civil service. He answered the question “in the affirmative”, but added that it was a necessary evil at that moment in time not least because there were not enough experienced and competent civil servants to take over from the tainted competent ones who had served Adolph Hitler. The converse would have resulted in him having to “throw out the baby with the bathwater”. To my mind, Mr Barrow is to a large extent faced with the same dilemma in present day Gambia. Pragmatism dictates that he in the short term has no other option but to re-use some of the tainted souls under the former regime.
Secondly, even though I agree with Mr Jobarteh that the former Speaker of the NA acted in a way that borders on treason by defying “the people’s will” and voting for an extension of the former regime’s tenure by six months. However, the same could be said of all those NAMs who voted for the extension. The big question in this regard is, however: Were they forced to do so in one way or another by the former president, having regard to the scant respect the latter has for civil liberties and the rule of law? If yes, then that per se is a mitigating factor in the former Speaker’s and NAMs’ favour.
Thirdly, I am convinced Mr Barrow’s approach shall go a long way towards healing the seeds of discord and inter-tribal hatred that had been sown by the former regime. As someone who was born and bread in the Kombos with friends and family members belonging to more than five different ethnic groups, no amount of propaganda shall convince me that Gambians are tribalists by nature. Never!
Yes, due to a large measure to ignorance many Gambians hold negative “prejudices” against members of other ethnic group. There is nothing new about that in human history. Even in advanced northern Europe, “people of the same ethnic groups” have a lot of negative “prejudices” about people living in different regions of their respective countries – due largely to low levels of contact among residents of the different regions. So long as such prejudices are not justified by an irrational hatred of the other with intent to damage him/her in one way or another only because he/she belongs to another tribe, I would regard it as an “abuse of language” by labeling it tribalist/racist. We might just as well be dealing with “favouritism” or nepotism, which have nothing to do with tribe.
To those propagandists who see tribalism everywhere, I would like to urge them to travel out of the Sene-gambia region to the other African countries for a couple of years. In many of these countries inter-tribal marriages have been the exceptions to the rule so far … and genuine inter-tribal hatred on a large scale exists on a daily basis. That is one of the reason why African immigrants are a common site on our streets today – these people know better, but they won’t tell you openly.

After such a trip I am 100% sure these folks shall start appreciating the inter tribal harmony and love that has been a hallmark of our beloved country for centuries! So, stop defaming our beloved country’s image for cheap political goals!

  15. Mr Manneh; Congratulations !!!

  16. There goes the sweaty hat Brit of a commoner!
Who says that the intelligent folks on this forum need your pat on their shoulder?
The self appointed moderator on this forum will throw up his sweaty hat at every opportunity and jump into intelligent discourse not only to rudely interrupt people’s train of thought but also sour the gist of discussions.
Tell him Bourne. Also share a good dose of African intelligence, smarts and BIG WORDS for the object of confounding ………
Well, what else if one isn’t gainfully employed!

  17. I think the former staffers of The Daily Observer are finding themselves confused in their newly enforced “Twilight Zone” of reporting The new Gambian concept.

I mean how do they turn from singing the praises of Total Dictatorship to a benign dedicated Democracy ?

Maybe they use their well honed skills to pick on easy stationery targets?

As they say >>” old habits die hard.”
