Fabakary Tombong Jatta has said the rumours milling round town indicated that the FTJ-led APRC has been responsible for “the NPP’s denial” of a political bureau to Kebba Madi Bojang”.
Kebba Madi Bojang is the current official youth president of the ruling NPP, but there were indications that he was on a collision course with the President’s party. He is among the NPP officials, who defied the party’s seven-day ultimatum, to respond to a letter from its executive, requesting an explanation about their conspicuous absence from high-level ruling party events.
Former NPP official Ousainou Baye Sankareh last week told JollofNews that he alongside Kebba Madi and others were at an advanced stage of registering a new political party to be named National Democratic Party (NDP).
And Fabakary Tombong Jatta hinted that this might have been at the root of the allegation against his faction of the APRC.
“If they have a plan, let them not associate that with the APRC. What is clear is that APRC is not double-tongued. We are always where we are and we turn our back whenever we are not enamoured. We stayed true to the alliance no matter how tough it was because we do not betray,” stated the APRC leader as he addressed party supporters in Foni Kampant on Saturday.
Jatta contended that the rumours that APRC “is responsible for the deprivation of Kebba Madi of a bureau” is the height of ignorance.
“Some are saying that it’s because of us that the NPP national youth president wasn’t allocated a bureau. That’s the height of ignorance. Only the unenlightened are spreading that rumour,” he stated.
