Gambia: Barrow To Host Senior Civil Servants In Jammeh’s Tent

Ex-President Jammeh hosted the last APRC congress in the Grand Tent he bought for over US$2 million

President Adama Barrow of The Gambia will host a one-day meeting with senior officials of the country’s civil service.

The meeting with over 144 civil servants which will be held in the Grand Tent purchased by former President Yahya Jammeh for over US$2 million, is intended to help rebuild and provide an efficient, effective and responsive public sector institutions to the needs of the citizens and other stakeholders.

During the meeting at State House, Banjul on 23rd January, a statement from Mr Barrow’s office said he will engage senior officials on key issues related to the public sector reform.

“The public sector is one of the enablers that will complement the eight strategic priorities of the National Development Plan (2018-2021). The meeting will bring together all the ministers, permanent and deputy permanent secretaries, other senior officials and the heads of the state-own enterprises,” the statement stated.
