
President Adama Barrow of the Gambia will Wednesday swear-in the country’s new minister of the Interior at State House.
Habib Saihou Drammeh joined Mr Barrow’s cabinet on Monday. He succeeds Mai Ahmad Fatty who was removed last monthy. No reason was given for Mr Fatty’s sacking but a spokesman for the president said it was done in the best interest of the country.
The new Interior minister who will be responsible for the country’s internal and border security including the police, has no security experience.
He was general manager of the Gambia Transport Service Company (GTSC) and has experience in human resources management, strategic management, tourism management and marketing, business feasibility tudies.
An MBA holder in corporate strategy and industrial policy from Maastricht School of Management, The Netherlands, and a post graduate diploma holder in management from the University of Manchester ,UK, Mr Drammeh served as a lecturer at the University of the Gambia.
