‘Investor Made To Pay Over D40M By Gambia’s Tourism Authorities’ Yet…

The tourism authorities in The Gambia have reportedly succeeded in making a so-called ‘invisible foreign investor’ pay over 40 million dalasi for the development of a vast land area at the Tourism Development Area (TDA), but the authorities ended up lumbering him [investor] with more financial demands and throwing spanners in the works.

The investor, described in some quarters as invisible, was given a vast chunk of the wetland just behind the Gambia Tourism Board HQ.

He reportedly paid US$600,000 for development fee alone, 12 million dalasi land premium and has since being stumbling upon one block to another whenever he wants to develop it.
