Minister Sillah Accuses Alagie Saidy-Barrow Of Pettiness

Gambia’s transport and works minister has launched a veiled attack on prolific social and political commentator Alagie Saidy-Barrow, accusing him of nit-picking.

Minister Ebrahim Sillah casually told Coffee Time With Peter Gomez on Tuesday that Alagie has made a profession out of finding fault with almost everything.

Sillah said it will make much sense for Mr. Barrow to form his own political party, suggesting that the social and political commentator should understand the mechanics of governance from within, lightheartedly hinting that Alagie should enter the kitchen to fathom how the heat feels therein.

“He can form his own party,” Sillah suggested.

Asked by host Peter Gomez as to whether or not the NPP will be willing to open its doors to Mr. Barrow, Minister Sillah responded that the ruling party is eager to welcome new members, including Alagie Saidy-Barrow.

Alagie Saidy-Barrow is apparently becoming a thorn in the flesh of the NPP government. Sillah’s criticism against him was not the first time that he was publicly criticized by a Cabinet minister for his critical articles against the government.
