The secretary-general and leader of the NPP Mr. Adama Barrow has approved the appointment of Mr. Momodou Sabally as the ruling party national youth president following the recent expulsion of key NPP figures from the party.
According to a statement from the NPP HQ in Bundung, Mr Barrow has also greenlighted the appointment of former NPP national youth wing PRO Abdoulie Cham as the ruling party deputy national campaign manager.
The statement said Mrs. Ramzia Diab, Mr. Musa Suso and Omar Biyai have been co-opted into the national executive following presidential approval.
Mr. Barrow has also endorsed the appointment of Mr.Yusupha Jammeh of Tanjeh as the Public Relations Officer of the NPP National Youth Wing.
“Mr. Lamin Saho is appointed as Deputy Public Relations Officer of the National Youth Wing,” read the statement.
According to the statement, signed by the NPP deputy spokesman Seedy Njie, “these strategic appointments underscore the Party’s unwavering commitment to youth empowerment, grassroots mobilization, and inclusive national development in preparation for upcoming national engagements”.
“On behalf of the National Executive, membership, and supporters, His Excellency President Adama Barrow extends his heartfelt congratulations to all newly appointed officials. He urges them to discharge their duties with diligence, integrity, and patriotic dedication,” the statement further read.
“The Party Leader further calls on all NPP structures, supporters, and affiliated stakeholders to extend their full support and cooperation to the new appointees and to continue working collectively in pursuit of the Party’s vision, principles, and national aspirations,” it concluded.
It could be recalled that the former NPP youth president Kebba Madi Bojang broke away from the party, taking with him influential party members and creating a void in the ruling party structure.
