The United Democratic Party (UDP) has issued a strong warning against any form of electoral malpractice ahead of the country’s upcoming elections, pledging to confront and expose any attempt to compromise the integrity of the vote.
Dr. Lamin Manneh, the UDP’s Administrative Secretary, said the party is aware of ongoing efforts to manipulate the electoral process and will take firm action against those involved.
“We have seen cases today of people in Yundum looking for the home of the Bisumbala Alkalo and attestation being given somewhere in Lamin,” Dr. Manneh said. “We know all of these things are happening already. The cheating they are preparing, we will tell them it would not be possible. Cheating would not be possible in this country again.”
Dr. Manneh, who spoke while returning home from work, said he personally witnessed what he described as an organized effort to engage in voter manipulation in Bisumbala. He vowed that the UDP would act swiftly to prevent such practices.
According to him, the party has gathered evidence of potential irregularities and is prepared to challenge them through lawful and political means. He warned that the UDP will no longer tolerate being denied what it believes to be its rightful victories.
“We will not be cheated of any more victories,” he said. “You do the right thing or we will fight you back, and we’re going to fight tough.”
Dr. Manneh also invoked the Senegalese expression “Gat-sah-gat-sah,” meaning to fight fiercely and relentlessly, to describe the UDP’s readiness to defend the integrity of the electoral process.

As the nation gears up for the polls, the UDP’s Administrative Secretary sends a clear signal of zero tolerance for electoral misconduct. Dr. Manneh said the party’s priority remains ensuring that the upcoming elections are conducted freely, fairly, and transparently.
