The Chairman of the UDP-led Brikama Area Council(BAC), Yankuba Darboe, has maintained that his administration’s accomplishments have always been met with strongarm policing tactics.
“The pattern is very simple and unsophisticated! Every development we register in my region, is followed by threats of police arrest and detention! Tonight too is no exception, just as I returned home from celebrating the inauguration of street lights in Brikama, which were donated to BAC, I have been flooded with rumours of my imminent arrest by the NPP police of President Adama Barrow,” Darboe wrote.
“My house is swamped with concerned youths fearing for my pending arrest. But for what?! What are they arresting me for?! What kind of a country have we become, where the police can jump and arrest anyone they like! Even elected officials can be arrested by any rank and file officer of the police and the people will just allow it to pass! We must put an end to such madness! This is not a police state but a country of laws!,” he stated, adding:”

I have few words of advice for President Adama Barrow, the more you and your surrogates try to bring me down, the more I rise and I can assure you that you will never be able to dim my light! Keep trying harder!
