(JollofNews) – President Yahya Jammeh of the Gambia Wednesday morning arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, where he will take part in the 13th Heads of States Summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Mr Jammeh and his delegation were received on arrival at Ataturk Airport by the Turkish minister of Economy, Mustapha Elitas.
The two-day summit kicks-off on Thursday under the theme “Unity and Solidarity for Justice and Peace”.
The agenda of the summit includes, among other issues, the question of Palestine and Arab-Israeli conflict, conflict situation in the Muslim world, combating terrorism and violent extremism, Islamophopia, humanitarian situation in the Muslim world, and the OIC-2025 Programme of Action. The summit will adopt a final communique and Istanbul Declaration.
The summit convenes every three years and aims at jointly reviewing the international situation in the political, economic and social fields and analysing the impact on the Muslim Ummah.
