(JollofNews) – A judge in Madison, Wisconsin, has granted bail to a man who admitted killing a 23-year-old Gambian woman, Fatoumata Jallow and critically wounding another.
Ali A. Hassan, 25, who is charged with first-degree intentional homicide and attempted first-degree intentional homicide in connection with the Wednesday night shooting on Kevins Way, has been given a US$1 million cash bail and ordered not to contact numerous families connected to the case.
Madison police have confirmed that Jallow suffered multiple gunshot wounds to her torso and right arm. The other woman shot at the home, whose name is yet to be revealed, had 10 bullet wounds.
Police said a bullet was found in her right arm and she had wounds above her belly button, in her right side and three in her chest. Doctors had to remove her gallbladder, a portion of her stomach and a portion of her liver. The doctor told police the woman would have died without medical treatment.
Police added that after his arrest, Hassan had admitted in his police interviewing to shooting at his victims stating “I shot everyone in that house…just take me to jail.”
Meanwhile, Madison District 17 Alder, Samba Baldeh has revealed that Ms Jallow is his cousin.
Paying tribute to her, Mr Baldeh described her as “the most respectful person you will ever meet in the world.”
He added: “Whatever justice looks like, this man should not see daylight for the rest of his life.”
