(JollofNews) – The community of Bundung Borehole in the Gambia’s Kanifing Municipality is searching for two toddlers who went missing from their homes in the weekend.
Two-year-old Alasana Asoga Jatta, and Three-year-old Mbombeh Ceesay, were reported missing by their parents on Saturday around 16:00 hrs.
AlasanJatta, father of the missing boy, said his son disappeared from the family compound and he has searched for him everywhere.
“We have reported the matter to Bundung, Serrekunda and Bakoteh police stations,” he said.
“I don’t suspect anyone but I am appealing to the person holding my child to kindly return him back. He is my first child.”
Mbengeh Ceesay, mother of the missing girl, said she has not slept since her daughter went missing.
“I am in bits and my whole life has been turned apart,” she said.
“I miss my girl and I am begging whoever is holding her to please bring her back to me.”
Gambia police has to be involved helping finding theses two missing children and bring them back to their family safely.
Incredibly distressing; I do pray no criminal act is involved. God bless and protect all who are grieving. The protection of the child is the protection of the nation and its future. In this we all have a stake. Each and every one of us.
I think letting toddlers and also very young children playing around neighborhoods alone should have to be discouraged. Imagine two adult Gambian U.S citizens on holidays could be slain in order to rob them of their money, what about selling children for adoption or voodoo purpose….. Police need to be very very sophisticated in these times.
Very traumatic, alarming and unbelievable. I hope these children are safe and can be brought back to their families soon. I just cannot understand how 2/3 old kids can be left unsupervised. This should be a wake up call to all families.
