The Gambia Armed Force (GAF) Thursday announced appointment of Lieutenant Malick Sanyang as its acting director of press and public relations.
Lt. Sanyang replaces Major Lamin K Sanyang who has been nominated to undergo a military course at the Nigeria Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji.
The GAF high command reiterated that it is committed to preserve and defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Gambia and to maintain harmony and foster understanding between the Armed Forces and the civilian population as enshrined in the 1997 amended constitution.
It says the office of the chief of Defence Staff of the GAF looks forward to a more fruitful and a mutually beneficial civil-military relationship and cooperation as they steer the affairs of the Armed Forces to the admiration of the citizenry.
