(JollofNews) – Bakary M.A. Jaiteh alias General Bakso, who until yesterday was the senior administrative secretary of the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction, has officially resigned from his position.
“I write to tender my resignation from the following positions held within the APRC with immediate effect and as follows: Senior administrative secretary, signatory of the party accounts and as an executive member of APRC,” the letter signed by Mr Jaiteh and shared with The Standard read.
“In light of the above statement of resignation from all relevant positions of authority within the party, I wish to take this opportunity to thank the general membership of the APRC party and in particular the founding leader and former president Yahya Jammeh of the Republic of The Gambia His Excellency Yahya AJJ Jammeh for the immense support accorded to me since we started working together.”
However, Mr Jaiteh confirmed in the letter that he is still a member of the APRC and he will continue to have the utmost respect for the party executive and former president.
Born in Njaba-Kunda, in the Central Baddibu district of the North Bank Region, General Bakso was among the first Gambians to accept and embrace the APRC party since day one when President Jammeh took over the mantle of leadership of the country in 1994. He also once served as deputy Governor of West Coast Region in addition to many influential positions he held in the party.
