You don’t like Trump? Well, I don’t either. But think about why you don’t like Trump and his base supporters. Would you like Trump or Hitler if you found out you share similar thoughts? Let’s see. Here are a few things a lot of us don’t like about Trump and his base:
1. They are religious zealots; they think if you’re not part of their “religion”, you’re going to hell.
2. They think anyone that does not sound and look like them is beneath them
3. They think anyone with a name they’re not familiar with is not a bonafide citizen of America
4. They have a sense of entitlement to America and quick to say “this is against our values and we will not tolerate it in this country.”
5. They hate Jews, Gays, Catholics and Muslims
Now are you a Gambian who:
1. Thinks that anyone that does not conform to your religion is going to hell just like Trump’s base thinks?
2. Do you think the tribe or caste or family you claim is better than any other?
3. Thinks that someone with a name or surname not familiar to you is less Gambian than you?
4. Thinks Gambia belongs to “you all” and you are in charge of its values and morals so you like to remind people what is “acceptable and or unacceptable”?
5. Hates Jews, Catholics, Gays just like Trump’s base hate them? (Feel free to change hate to dislike).
If any of the above applies to you, perhaps you should join “me” so we can proclaim “I share certain views with Trump”! I know it’s a terrible feeling to think you have anything in common with someone so despised but oh well, too bad. What if I told you Hitler had similar views as well!!! Surely you cannot proclaim “I am Hitler”.
How convenient of one to hate in another that which he embraces in himself!
