Police in the Gambia say on Monday that it has yet to effect any arrest following reports smoked fish vendors were using insecticide to preserve their stock.
Many Gambians were bewildered and still wondering following an audio report of alleged widespread usage of Sniper insecticide by vendors to preserve their fish.
Meanwhile, there were reports 19 people were arrested over the issue but the police said it not did arrest anyone.
“I enquired from Gunjur, Sanyang and Tanji but they cannot confirm arresting anyone,” deputy police spokesperson Inspector Alieu Jamanka told JollofNews this afternoon.
