Senior officials of FTJ-led APRC on Friday crossed over to the North Bank for a weekend retreat to bang heads together over the party’s present and future but before reclining from the public view, FTJ told the people of Juffureh and Albreda that APRC as a party never tormented any Gambian in its entire history.
APRC leader Fabakary Tombong Jatta and delegation were accorded a befitting reception by the residents of the two Upper Niumi settlements as they arrived in Albreda on Friday.
FTJ, who was himself born in Albreda, clarified that APRC has a clear direction like any other party in the country and that the former ruling party is a party of the people.
“What I want to make categorically clear here is that APRC is a party of the people. I may be crooked, Amul may be crooked but APRC has a clear direction like any other party in this country,” he told his compatriots.
“APRC never tormented anyone,” added the APRC leader.
The House Speaker meantime thanked President Barrow for embracing the APRC after ousting it.
“This is a novelty in the entire world,” he acknowledged.
