The government has yet to advance any reason why President Adama Barrow did not show up at the former Anti-crime HQ on Saturday to lay the foundation stone for the building of a multi-million dollar hotel there but OIC Gambia Secretariat said the event has been postponed to next weekend.
Amid rising tension between government of The Gambia and Global-HOMM over the property, government’s determination to build US$100 hotel on the disputed property has so far shown no sign of wavering.
Despite a high court judgement last month that the property belongs to Global-HOMM, government has remained resolute in its exercise of control over it.
Government meanwhile said it wants to build a luxury hotel on the property in anticipation of the OIC Banjul summit.
JollofNews has gathered that the foundation stone laying has now been pushed to July, 23.
