The Ginkon Group of NPP’s Momodou Bojang has been accused of unethical environmental practices with the potential of destroying the coastline in Tujereng.
The Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Hon. Abdoulie Jobe, was on Saturday at Tujereng sand mines where he was told by the village Alkalo, Mr. Momodou Bojang, that Ginkon Group has been mining sand beyond their designated zone and that this was injurious to the coastline.
The Tujereng Alkalo reported to the minister and his delegation, including adviser Momodou B. Sarr, that he’d taken the Ginkon issue to the relevant authorities on several occasions but nothing spectacular has so far happened.
Ginkon Group is the brainchild of Jambur-born Momodou Bojang.
Mr. Bojang contested the Kombo South seat in the last legislative elections under an NPP ticket but was rejected by the majority of voters.
