President Adama Barrow has identified a potential trade minister but his pick has a dual nationality, hence the delay in the appointment of a trade minister.
Information minister Lamin Queen Jammeh this morning told Coffee Time With Peter Gomez that the appointment of a trade minister was delayed because the person Mr. Barrow identified has dual citizenship.
Asked by host why dual citizenship should stand in the way of appointing a successor to Seedy Keita, the minister, borrowing from Bob Marley’s lyrics, said:”In every call, many are called but few are chosen”.
To information minister Jammeh, chosing a trade minister can be a tall order.
“It’s challenging and extremely difficult (to appoint a trade minister). You need people with qualities,” he told the program.
