The Gambia’s minister of justice has confirmed that it’s all clear for Sainabou Martin to gain access to her office following a recent court ruling but reports reaching JollofNews say the disgraced CEO has yet to show up at the KMC.
Sainabou Martin, Lamin Sanyang and KMC’s suspended director of finance were among council staff implicated in an D11m scandal.
Sometime last year, jaws dropped and tongues wagged when it was reported in a KMC General Council meeting that Ms. Martin and alleged confederates in crime attempted to divert D11m of staff money in a questionable land deal.
They were suspected of bloating the land price and other surreptitious activities such as tinkering documents.
The case has generated huge public interest but later took a political dimension with Ms. Martin enjoying state support.
The paramilitary were deployed to enable her access her desk but this was met with stiff resistance from council staff, who were still trying to process how the beleaguered CEO and her alleged conspirators could defraud them of their savings.
She made botched attempts to enter the council precincts and then later decided to go down the legal avenue to challenge her suspension.
And now, the court has given her the right to go to her office currently overseen by someone.
However, JollofNews has been reliably informed today that the suspended CEO has yet to be seen at the KMC.
The question that arises is: When Will Sainabou Martin Go To KMC?
