Some banks in the country have reportedly emptied their CFA stock since on Thursday.
Customers have been talking about CFA scarcity as they frantically searched for the currency.
“There is virtually no CFA in sight,” complained businesswoman Sohna Faye.
“I had a plan to return to Senegal on a business trip but I cancelled it because I’m unable to get CFA,” Mor Marr told JollofNews.
Many people shared Mor’s predicament as business trips have been put on hold in anticipation of stability in the CFA market.
