Gambian starlet Adama Bojang has admitted that he is excited to be linked with some of Europe’s biggest clubs like Tottenham Hotspur.
Bojang has been extremely impressive since breaking into the senior side at Steve Biko FC and the striker turned a lot of heads with his prolific showing at the recently concluded South Africa Under-20 Nations Cup.
The 18-year-old netted a hat-trick in the quarter-finals against South Sudan as the Gambian Under-20s side finished runners-up to Senegal in the tournament.
The Daily Mail reported last week that Bojang’s displays in the competition have alerted several European clubs, including Spurs, who are thought to see the teenager as one for the future.
It is explained that Tottenham would first need to loan out the centre-forward before he can qualify for a work permit.
The publication explained that the North London club could face competition from Napoli, Royal Antwerp and Nottingham Forest for the teenager’s services.
Bojang has now admitted that being linked with the aforementioned clubs comes as a big boost to his confidence.
When asked about the transfer speculation, the striker told BBC Sport Africa. “I’ve heard about the news (the rumours). And I am excited about it.
“It boosts my morale. I’m focusing more on (gaining) consistency which motivates me a lot, because seeing such clubs following you is a great feeling.
“Through consistency, it will make them hungrier (to sign) me.”
